We are seeking a results-oriented Project Manager with a networking/telecom/internet background on behalf of a provider and manufacturer of networking and VoIP solutions.  They have established points-of-presence in major centers within Canada, the US and are continuing to build their expanding customer base.

Role description:

The Project Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations and will be accountable for all aspects of customer orders including the timely delivery of services and key stakeholder communications.  The PM will also be tasked with improving delivery efficiency and finding ways to accelerate the delivery of services.

Primary responsibilities will include but may not be limited to: 

• Assisting Sales Engineers with hardware/software configuration diagrams to allow orders to move into provisioning as smoothly as possible 
• Invokes project kickoffs for all orders received from sales, assigns resources, assignments and ensures equipment is configured, tested and successfully deployed to customer sites 
• Coordinates with ISP's, advanced resellers, partners and customer IT staff /sales engineers for delivery and implementation of equipment 
• Maintains strong working relationships with external Telco partners for ongoing sales and provisioning work activities 
• Provides ongoing communication and status updates to sales department for all partner communication 
• Provides ongoing technical and consultative advice to all escalated support desk inquiries to ensure partners and customers are communicated to in a timely manner 
• Assisting with adhoc project initiatives as required

We are looking for the following background in a preferred candidate: 

• Proven ability to manage technical projects in a fast paced environment to ensure delivery is completed on time and within scope 
• Ability to manage internal and external business stakeholders throughout the project delivery schedule and to communicate those project activities effectively to management, sales, partners and customers 
• Ability to work with network diagrams i.e. create, review and modify diagrams.  Knowledge of MS Visio and MS Project would be an asset 
• Demonstrated ability to work with Technology Development, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of products and features

Technical knowledge and qualifications required:

• Strong knowledge of internet access concepts such as MPLS, Metro Ethernet, T1, Cable, ADSL, Fixed Wireless 
• Advanced understanding of networking including LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP Stack etc. 
• Experience working with VOIP technologies would be an asset 
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and formal Project Management methodologies 
• Prior experience with network management, network security, reporting, analytics and virtualization tools would be advantageous
