NCR Field Service Technician

Our client is Bermuda’s exclusive NCR reseller for the hospitality, retail and financial sectors.

On their behalf, we are presently seeking an NCR Field Service Engineer to be responsible for installing Point-of-Sales (POS) systems equipment, troubleshooting, and repairing for their customer base on the Island.

This is a full-time, hands-on, position requiring a superior ability to identify/fix POS hardware and software issues. This is a Monday-Friday, 8:30-5 position, however some after-hours support is also a requirement.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Solid experience working with ISS45/Encor or StorePoint Point of Sale (grocery and or fuel support)
  • Experience performing software upgrades
  • At least three years of experience with the POS systems including integrated credit card systems
  • Must be highly proactive, engaged, and motivated, and hands-on approach, and be comfortable working in a client facing environment
  • Familiarity with servers and creating software images
  • PC skills, and some specific hardware and operating system familiarity 


Desired but not essential:

  • Experience working with Self-checkout, Electronic Shelf Labels, BRData and WINAR Integrated Accounts Receivables
  • Previous experience in a Grocery and/or Fuel Service station environment
  • Experience working with Scales and Eplum scale software
  • An ISS45/ENCOR NCR Certification
  • Technical experience working with WinAR, BRDATA, EPlum, Pricer ESL, Connected Payments, Fuel 
  • Integration experience would be ideal


Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing upgrades and support of customers post upgrade
  • Efficiently responding to maintenance requests and service calls
  • Servicing equipment such as POS and peripherals, self-checkout systems, scales etc…
  • Overseeing hardware maintenance, installation, multi-vendor maintenance and software support
  • Building and maintaining positive, long-lasting, relationships with customers
  • Performing maintenance, repair, and system overhauls (modular swaps and unit replacements)
  • Producing timely and detailed service reports to the General Manager (closing weekly service calls) and documenting processes in the customer database
  • Following all company’s filed procedures and protocols
  • Contributing to the team culture by sharing technical information across the organization
  • Comprehending customer requirements and making appropriate recommendations
  • Training junior staff
